Great

"I was nervous about this hotel because of the negative reviews I had read. I can say that I would stay here again. Huge rooms, updated furniture and bathroom, clean, happy service given but the reception phone was not always answered (rang 3 separate time and only answered once). The only negatives were that the hallways are old and did have that 'old' smell. This did impact my initial feeling of the room but after opening windows, the room was fine. The location for the price is excellent. We walked around quite a bit but usually caught an uber back from Fisherman's wharf (about $20). I would recommend to friends and tell them to ask for the top floor. We even had a view of alcatraz and the city! I booked two double queen rooms and they were great. Just to note as well, I did read a review that there were bed bugs and the review also said it was my room number - I can say for sure there is no bed bugs. I slept very well in the comfy beds (although the pillows were average). "
