Not only was he one of the most popular Americans, he was, in fact, a global celebrity. The museum in his honor measures a staggering forty thousand square foot. The museum has several galleries and exhibits. It conducts educational programs. There are many historical artifacts, original drawings & animations created by Walt Disney and a miniature model of the first Disneyland. The museum also showcases more than two hundred awards that the legend had won during his long career.

Walt Disney Family Museum is open to the public six days a week, with the exception of Tuesday. It remains open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The museum remains closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. There are ten parks in the museum signifying every phase of his life, tracing all the way to his modest start and the various stages of his journey in Hollywood.
